The SWCPEH has developed numerous presentations for a wide variety of groups from physicians and other health professionals to community and school groups.

"Enhancing Environmental Health of Children on the Border" Resources

 

The SWCPEH supported the development of a short video and toolkit, All-Terrain Vehicle Safety – The Last Ride, to promote ATV safety and address ATV-related injuries, particularly among young children and adolescents. The free toolkit is available at http://txaheceast.org/resource-center/atv-safety-the-last-ride/ and includes a video dramatization, pre and post surveys, a PowerPoint presentation, and a summary of ATV laws in Texas.

Dr. Stormy Monks presented a PEHSU Program Journal Club webinar “The Public Health Response to Large Scale Water Contamination” on February 24, 2016. The Journal Club is intended to help medical professionals learn from each other’s experiences by seeing and interpreting literature through their colleagues’ perspectives, because reading medical literature makes for better physicians. Dr. Stephen Borron presented a webinar on "Unconventional Oil Exploration: What are the fracking risks for children?” on June 24, 2015. The webinar, which is available for CME credits through the CDC, is available at: http://www.acmt.net/PEHSU_Grand_Rounds_June_2015.html

 

SWCPEH and EPA presented a webinar on ”The New CDC Blood Lead Reference Values” on June 10, 2012.
